First Lieutenant Raymond Thaddeus Plevyak, U.S. Air Force — Missing in Action, Korean War

First Lieutenant Raymond Thaddeus Plevyak served with distinction in the United States Air Force as a pilot in the 67th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, giving his all in the defense of freedom during the Korean War. On March 1, 1952, he was lost in action near Sinchon, North Korea, while flying a critical mission targeting enemy supply lines—a sacrifice that remains unresolved despite extensive search and recovery efforts led by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. His unwavering bravery and selfless service continue to inspire all who learn his story, carrying special significance within our organization as he is the great uncle of one of our dedicated board members. We honor Lieutenant Plevyak’s legacy and the ultimate price paid by America’s fallen heroes by preserving their memory and renewing our commitment to their enduring cause
